Our Story
VidyaSaar was born from a simple observation: financial literacy in India is either taught too late, too theoretically, or not at all — especially for the people who need it most.
That observation crystallized through hands-on CSR work at organizations like *AU Small Finance Bank, World Wide Fund, and Indian Oil*. Working on the ground with community-facing initiatives at these institutions exposed a recurring gap — well-intentioned programs often reached people, but rarely equipped them with the practical financial skills to actually change their circumstances. That gap became the founding idea behind VidyaSaar: financial education shouldn't be an afterthought bolted onto other programs, it should be the program.
We started VidyaaSarr (VIDYAASARR EDUCATION AND DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION) as a Section 8 non-profit with one goal: make financial literacy accessible, practical, and genuinely useful for underserved populations across India. Not another set of dry lectures on saving and investing — but an experience that blends theory, real-world application, and gamified learning, so financial thinking becomes a habit, not a one-time.
Today, VidyaSaar continues to build on that same idea — that everyone, regardless of background or income, deserves the tools to make confident financial decisions.
